How the Iron Calculation Works
The calculator uses a straightforward nutrient-density approach. First, the selected serving is converted to grams using standard edible-portion weights. Then the iron content is calculated with this formula:

Worked Examples
Example 1: One medium orange. A medium navel orange weighs roughly 131 g of edible flesh. The iron calculation is 131 ÷ 100 × 0.10 = 0.131 mg.
